Haiku Poetry Generator Help

Every time you click on the "WRITE POEM" button in the Haiku1 program, it produces "original" haiku verse. While the poems produced do not conform to the traditional 5-7-5 syllable pattern, they are undeniably thought-provoking in the haiku style.

You can direct the program to produce poems using a particular form (by clicking on one of the four forms, and clicking 'Use Visible Form" in the control panel at the bottom of the program window), or you can leave it up to the program to choose one of the forms (by clicking "Use Random Form").

  1. Use the program to produce as many poems as you like, using a variety of forms.

  1. As you did in the previous lab with the human-generated verses, record three verses that strike you as interesting. In this case, your notion of interesting may expand to include verses that are particularly silly, meaningless, or otherwise not human-like2.

  2. Describe, in your own words, what you think the program is doing to produce the verses, and how that differs from what you do when you write your own.
