Midterm Exam checklist
Do this on your own, after the class. Email me if you have
questions.
Answer the following questions regarding the way you approached
your preparation for this class and for the midterm exam.
These questions are just a self-assesment. You do not need to
email Ileana any answers.
If you
sense that you are not well prepared for the midterm or if you need
help, you should use the TA help sessions on Tuesday and Wednesday before the midterm exam.
- I did all the lab work.
- I intend to review all the lab
assignments on my own.
- I intend to look at other solutions (accessible
from the class web page) and compare them with my own ones. I
understand that looking at the way other people solved the same
problem (after I have struggled myself with finding a solution)
is a valuable source of ideas for improving my programming style.
- I intend to form a study group and work on class problems
together with classmates.
- I understand all the concepts covered in class.
- This is a list of concepts that I do not understand (please
make the list and ask the TA to go with you over them).
- I went over all the lecture notes and I am comfortable with
the concepts taught so far.
- I am able to write a simple Java applet which uses:
- the mouse
- buttons
- graphics
- arrays
- define and use my own class for a simple type of object (such
as point, vector, etc.).
- I am able to carefully read and follow program
specifications, and I do so before starting writing code for my
program.
- I know how to develop a program in stages, starting with
simple things first.
