About me.

I am an Assistant Professor of Mathematics at Smith College.  Before coming to Smith, I was a postdoctoral fellow at the Max Planck Institute for Mathematics in Bonn, Germany, and a Hans Rademacher Instructor at the University of Pennsylvania.  My research is in geometric and low-dimensional topology.  My interests include curves on surfaces, knot theory and isotopy in the presence of geometric constraints, including contact topology.
