Anita Borg “Pass-it-On” Awards announced!
The Anita Borg Systers Pass-It-On (PIO) Awards honor Anita Borg’s desire to create a network of women technologists helping one another. The cash awards, funded by donations from the Systers Online Community and others, are intended as means for women established in technological fields to support women seeking their place in the fields of technology. Smith Teams Win Prizes at HackHolyoke
Congratulations to all the Smith students who won prizes at the Hack Holyoke (http://www.hackholyoke.com/) competition! Sarah Abowitz, Juliane Donahue-Bombosch, and Minyue Dai won the prize for Most Innovative with their team’s entry. Meanwhile the team of Ariana Meredith, Anjali Desai, Perla Garcia, and Michelle Wong won the #HackHarassment prize. Well done all!
Coding for Good (and Prizes!)
Congratulations to three of our own! Esther Nwaka, Karen Diaz and Kyra Gan just got back from Delaware, where they participated in the Code for Good 2015 event sponsored by JP Morgan Chase. They took second prize for the weekend, along with two other teammates. Way to go!

NCWIT has selected Smithies in CS to receive the NCWIT Student Seed Fund (sponsored by Symantec)!

GHC Scholarship Grant Application – Deadline: April 16, 2014.
Grant recipients will gain visibility and be connected with leading technical organizations who are grant sponsors. Grants cover registration, meals, and lodging expenses for attending.
