Judy Franklin
Judy Franklin researches machine learning and improvisation, currently systems based on recurrent neural networks that can learn to improvise jazz. Results are applicable to general time-series improvisation. She has received NSF funding for this work. She is also investigating the use of sound to demonstrate computer algorithms in her teaching and conversely, teaches a course on how to use algorithms to create new sounds.
